When I feel like eating tasty baguette or sandwich I visit sandwitch bar located in the end of Damrak street. It`s a great place for lunch on the go. I always like to sit in Dam Square with my enormous baquette and observe surrounding world.

Hortus Botanicus
The Hortus Botanicus is located on the edge of the bustling city of Amsterdam and is one of the oldest examples of botanical gardens in the world.Visitors can enjoy over 6,000 varieties of plants and 4,000 different species in the gardens as well as seven impressive climate controlled greenhouses. The gardens offer a great respite for visitors from the bustle of downtown Amsterdam. Hortus Botanicus was originally used as a training centre for doctors and pharmacists who trained in herbal remedies in the wake of Europe’s epidemic of bubonic plague. Gardening enthusiasts will experience a resplendent collection of plants at the venue – many of which were brought over to Amsterdam along with herbs and spices by the Dutch East India Company in the 17th and 18th centuries. There is 200-year-old Orangery in the centre of the gardens, which has an attractive outdoor cafĂ© serving a range of tasty food and refreshing drinks.

Without question, the best way to get around Amsterdam is on the trustworthy bicycle. They say one in every two of the city’s inhabitants has one.
You can rent out a bike, either for the day for around €6.50, or for 24 hours for around €9. You will definitely get your money’s worth if you go for the latter option

Somebody said: “In Amsterdam the water is the mistress and the land the vassal, throughout the city there are as many canals and drawbridges as bracelets on a Gypsy’s bronzed arms.”
